AOSS Medical Supply, operates as a supplier, managing inventory items sourced from vendors. They use Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations to oversee inventory, orders, and customer accounts. Additionally, they engage with customers through communication driven by established trade agreements. Inventory management involves overseeing the acquisition, storage, tracking, and distribution of goods within a business. It encompasses processes such as procurement, stock control, order fulfilment, and maintaining optimal inventory levels.

The Challenge

The client wanted to create a shopping cart where they could show their products that were in Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations. They wanted a full shopping cart experience from the portal. The client expressed a need to establish an integrated shopping cart within their portal, showcasing products sourced from Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations. They aimed to provide users with a comprehensive shopping experience, allowing them to browse, select, and purchase products seamlessly through the portal interface. This initiative involves bridging the gap between the Dynamics 365 platform and the online shopping experience, ensuring a cohesive and user-friendly interface for customers to interact with and make purchases directly from the portal.

The Solution

We created a portal linking it to their Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations environment. Our team successfully implemented a portal that seamlessly integrates with the Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations environment. Guest users can browse available products, and to make purchases, they need to register or log in if already registered. The displayed products are directly sourced from the Dynamics 365 environment.

The shopping cart functionality has been structured to align with the sales process: creating a cart transforms it into a quote. Once the customer finalizes the cart, it transitions into an order. Subsequently, when the payment is made, the order converts into an invoice.

The Impact
The entire solution streamlined the existing process. It not only mirrors the typical sales workflow but also enhances user experience. Moreover, customers receive a copy of the generated invoice both on the screen and via email, ensuring clear and immediate documentation of their transaction. This comprehensive implementation facilitates a smooth and user-friendly shopping experience while maintaining the integrity of the sales and invoicing processes within Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations.
